Product Description
Opinion writing is one of the three areas that 4th graders work on under the Common Core. The CCSS specifically states that students "Provide a concluding statement or section related to the opinion presented." CCSS 4.W.1d

If your students are anything like mine, they need some practice writing strong, related concluding statements. This resource is an activity that students can work on independently or in centers to practice writing such statements.

The file consists of a poster to outline an opinion text, 12 task cards, and a recording sheet. Students pick a card which contains the outline of an opinion text. After reading the opinion and three supporting reasons, students will write the concluding statement that would be used in this outline. My students had a blast picking cards and writing conclusions, and I'm sure yours will, too.
