Let Edit Notebooks change the way you teach grammar! This 5 page PDF is great for morning work, minilessons, or independent centers! When I started using Edit Notebooks in my classroom, my students started to take ownership of learning grammar standards. Kids love these independent learning tasks!
Each week holds the same progression for teaching a grammar skill:
Day 1- Introduce the skill and have students practice with a few simple examples.
Day 2- Build upon yesterday's lesson and have students practice with more rigorous examples.
Day 3- Have students identify skill within sentences.
Day 4- Students will edit incorrect sentences while color coding skill(s)
Day 5- Students will edit incorrect sentences while color coding skill(s)
Directions for making Edit Notebooks for your kids:
1. Buy composition notebooks.
2. Take them to a home improvement store near you and ask them to cut them for you (they normally do this for free!)
3. Project one page at a time on your board and let your students follow the directions at the top of every page!
