This award winning lesson is sure to engage students with activities away from as well as at the computer. Through the use of two classroom interactions, students learn the value of Boolean Operators in a way that even elementary students will understand. Older students will find the activities a welcome introduction to a sometimes boring subject.
The ten page lesson includes many web links that will aid in the process; suggestions for grouping students as well as ideas on how to introduce each step. The teacher may take the lesson even further and go into subject specific searches; links and suggestions are provided. Also included are assessment possibilities and a simple rubric as well as National Standards the lesson meets.
An earlier version of this lesson was a Lesson Award Winner at the Nebraska Educational Technology Association Convention. It has been successfully used with second through sixth graders.
