Students always like sweets/lollies. I have created a series of questions based on the concepts of music, for my Music 1 (senior) class, based on an analysis of answers from one of their aural exams.
Each coloured lolly (or you could use a different brand lolly) represents a concept. It is advisable to use wrapped lollies as it is more hygenic.
The questions should be read in the order in which they appear as they start off relatively simple but then involve more higher order thinking skills. It also means students have to listen to each other's answers in order to answer their own question.
Best done with a class of 10 - 15 students.
If you run out of questions within a concept, have a series of short aural excerpts ready to use.
