Great for during conferences. Helps to remember what was worked on with each particular student. Those of you who use IRLA know that it is hard to keep track of what your doing with each student every time. This helps me to stay on top of it. Wastes less time during the conference!
At my school we are specialized, but all teachers do IRLA. We have a set time for the grade level. For 10 days I will have my AM class for quiet reading and conferencing, then the next ten days we will switch at an earlier time and I will have my PM class for 10 days. We decided to do this so we (and the students) are comfortable conferencing with everybody. My partner that I switch with and I created a binder for each class for IRLA. We have one of these conferencing forms for each of the students in the binder with their class. This way when we switch for the 10 days we can look and see if anyone moved their power goal or color level.
There is NO WAY we could have been successful with the switching without this form!!!!
Let me know how it works in your classroom.
Hope this helps.
