This activity can be used in a variety of ways to include: centers, independent novel/short story study, or as part of a literature circle role. Students can read any novel or short story and choose a character to analyze. On the sticky note they should write the evidence from the text along with page numbers and underneath the sticky note, explain how the particular STEAL trait impacts the story/conflict. Students are then asked to summarize the plot at the bottom of the document. Students enjoyed this activity because they were allowed to use bright colored sticky notes and share with their table groups what they learned once they independently completed the task.
