The PowerPoint is expected to be used when taking notes about conflict and plot. It contains 26 slides. The slides contain definitions, text examples and place markers for movie clips. (links to the videos on YouTube are included in the bundle. At the end of the PowerPoint is a 10 question quiz (practice). The quiz includes excerpts from literature and additional movie clips.
Included in the bundle you will find two separate ways for students to take notes during the PowerPoint.
-Notes sheet – The notes sheet is a short graphic organizer. Students could use the graphic organizer to take notes to either turn in, take home, etc. There is a teacher key included so you know what should go into the notes sheet.
-Foldable - There are two sides for the foldable (the front/back, interior) This works best if you make double-sided copies of the foldable. Students should use this to take notes on the inside of the foldable. (There is a teacher copy of the foldable included in the bundle). They could then glue this into an interactive notebook.
My students struggle with taking notes, so on the PowerPoint you will see that many of the words are red, bolded and underlined. I have done this as a differentiation for some classes so they know what to write down. If you do not want them to know, please just highlight those sections, change the font color, bold and underline.
The YouTube movie clip sheet includes all of the links to the movie clips included in the PowerPoint. They were all tested on July 10, 2015.
