Students physically create a "toolbox" and "tools" (both made of colored file folders and/or cardstock and basic classroom supplies) and practice using 5 conflict-resolution tools in multiple scenarios. When the project is done, students have a physical product to keep in the classroom or at home, so that they may continue to work through conflict-resolution on their own.
This project/lesson will help students grades 6-12 become familiar with five different conflict resolution tools, and will allow students multiple opportunities to practice using those tools in different scenarios. This is an excellent project for students in any content area but works especially well in Public Speaking, Life Skills, Social Studies, and English. This unit requires 3-4 hours of class time total, but could be expanded as needed for students in different content areas.
