Product Description
This is an activating worksheet to get the students learning and talking about different types of conflicts their characters may face in novels, short stories, plays, etc.
Definitions of external conflict, internal conflict, and central conflict are given.
External conflict is broken down into 5 catagories: man vs. man, man vs. nature, man vs. supernatural, man vs. machine, and man vs. society.
Internal conflict is referred to as man vs. inner man, or man vs. himself.

After each definition, the student has an "On Your Own" section where he/she can draw upon background knowledge to better understand the definition.
At the end, there is a short quiz that presents different scenarios, and the student needs to write which conflict applies to each.

Helpful notes:

You may want to tell the students that man is short for human, so as to include all genders.

Diseases are a good example of man vs. nature

Hope this helps your students learn...
