This is a great common-core lesson where students analyze various examples of Chinese art within the context of Confucianism. You can download the PPT through the "Preview" button. There is a separate student handout that you will receive with this purchase.
First, students are shown the four images, one at a time. The first image shows a teacher instructing students, the second shows a child bowing in respect to family, the third depicts a classroom and the last one is of people helping others cross a river. With a neighbor, students address the same three questions from the PPT for each image as a brainstorm. Then, students receive their handout with a short reading that accompanies each image. Thought-provoking guiding questions are also posed and students are required to give written responses.
This is an excellent common-core lesson for a Unit on Chinese Belief Systems.
