Included in this zip folder are 16 Power Point files. 1 is an introductory lesson to congruent triangles, 1 is an explanation of the ambiguity of SSA, 1 is a student reference printable for congruent triangles, 8 files are assignments and 5 files are proofs. A brief description of each:

The Introductory Lesson is a 26 slide file. The emphasis is sequencing of information and identifying SSS, SAS, AAS, HL and ASA. SSA is also distinguished from HL.

The explanation of SSA not being a congruence sequence is explained in a 10 slide file. A triangle with a fixed 30 degree angle and sides of lenghts 5 and 7 are use to create 2 distinct triangles and disproving SSA as congruence.

The student reference defines:

Proof # 1 is a 13 slide instruction file and is free in the PREVIEW file.

Proof #2 is a 14 slide instruction file. It uses the definition of perpendicular, reflexive property and definition of a midpoint to prove triangles are congruent by SAS Congruence and then a side by CPCTC.

Proof #3 is a 14 slide instruction file. It uses the Vertical Angles Theorem, and the definition of a midpoint to prove triangles congruent by SAS Congruence, then an angle by CPCTC and finally segments parallel by the Alternate Interior Angles Theorem.
