In this Sorting / Matching activity, students will practice recognizing properties of the various conic sections through slight differences in an equation. For example, how does having (x+1) differ from having (x-1) in an equation?
The product contains 30 conic section graphs & equations.
All 30 cards can be used at once to help students review OR you can break the cards apart into "sets." For example, just use the parabola cards when helping students understand the impacts certain parts of equation have on the graph. Another way to use these cards is to have groups note similarities and differences between equations and share out. The possibilities of how to use these cards is endless (perhaps... if we use our imagination!)
Answer key for matching cards included. Recording Document also included but does not include solutions [the recording document is an option portion of this activity].
