Conic Sections Foldable/Notes is designed to help students learn and practice knowledge based on three conic sections: Parabolas, Ellipses, and Hyperbolas.
Students are asked to solve for equations in standard form and identify certain information that pertains to each conic section. (Described below)
2. Direction of Opening
2. Major Axis
2. Transverse Axis
As well as a section on how to identify each part of the conic sections, there is a helpful flow chart at the beginning to help students identify what conic section they are looking at.
I use this foldable in my College Algebra class after learning about each individual conic section. We usually complete this foldable in two 45 minute class periods. However, this could easily be used in an Algebra II class.
This foldable would be a great addition for an interactive notebook!
Instructions for printing and assembly as well as an answer key are included.
