I break students into groups of 3-4. Each group is given a set of task cards and a different color of sticky notes. They are colored for differentiation.
The black addition sentences are sums less than 100.
The purple number sentences are sums greater than 100.
Students work in their groups to find the sums of the addition sentences. Once they solve a problem, they show me. If it is correct, they get to put a sticky note on a square on the board. Groups are racing to cover 4 squares in a row on the board to win.
