Connect Four is known as "Puissance 4" in French.
Have your students work in pairs to play this game and work with expressions with avoir at the same time!
Students choose a circle, and give the French equivalent for the expression (used in a sentence). When they do, they get the circle. First to get 4 in a row wins! Or, have them continue playing and see who can get the most connect fours! I usually play with the rule of if they don't say the sentence correctly (their partner judges), then they don't get the circle.
Students really enjoy playing this and they get an opportunity to create sentences without the fear of messing up in front of the entire class.
I find it best to laminate these or put them in dry-erase pockets. That way students can use a dry-erase marker to color in the circles and you can play again and again. Or you have them use bingo chips.
