Great way for emergent readers to develop phonemic awareness and identify the beginning/initial sounds in words. Games can provide multiple repetitious practice on both beginning sounds and letter identification, both upper and lower case. Easy to create, long-lasting literacy centers. Simply print, laminate and glue to file folders. Make once, have forever! (As with many of my products.) Center can be used all year long. Students can begin with letter identification game and progress to consonant sounds then blends and digraphs. Easy to differentiate curriculum. Students can be playing same game, yet at multiple levels. Also great observational assessment to see students' problem solving skills as they attempt for four in a row.
You can also use the sheets for students to go on various sound hunts. They are guaranteed to find the sound they are hunting for when using these sheets.
