Students will read the short story “The Last Leaf” by O. Henry. They will make predictions and decipher the use of accents used in literature. Students will read, cite evidence, draw conclusions, and analyze character traits from the literary text. The main writing assignment is a compare and contrast of the short story and film version of “The Last Leaf.” This educational and entertaining unit should take three to five days to complete. All materials are included or linked for easy access.
