Connect: Stories Behind Idioms Book 1

‘Connect: Stories Behind Idioms’ is a series of two books, each covering 50 idioms. Each of these idioms has a story or origin behind it. Knowing the story behind an idiom helps students understand and appreciate the idiom better.
What you’ll find in each unit:

Each unit of the book focuses on a particular idiom. It consists of two pages.
The first page addresses the following:
• The meaning of the idiom and example sentences
• Background or additional information about the idiom

The second page tells the story behind the idiom. It is highly illustrated, in comic style, to make the learning of idioms fun!

There is a two-page practice after every 10 units. The practice pages offer a non-intimidating platform to assess students’ understanding of the idioms.

Answers to the questions are available at the back of the book.
