This Google Slides activity will give your students a chance to practice connecting real life situations to integer expressions. Students are given four different real life situations (word problems) and they have to match it to the four integer expressions at the bottom of the slide. Students drag the expression next to the problem that it matches, and then they answer the question. There are three slides of this type; on each slide, students will match four different problems.
The second type of slide in this activity gives students a problem, and they must create a real life situation to match it. Students must also tell the answer to their problem. Students move digital number tiles next to the problem whose solution they represent. There are four of these slides. Students can submit these slides for you to grade. Or you could have a gallery walk, as students walk around the class and see all of the different situations that classmates come up with.
When you purchase this resource, you will receive a pdf teacher's guide that has links to make copies of the student activities. A second link provides a copy to the answer key. Both you and your students will need Google accounts in order to use this activity.
