Students will see connections between different representations of a linear expression with this jigsaw-style cooperative learning activity. In addition to the cooperative learning activity, this resource also has a practice worksheet that could be used as homework, and an exit ticket.
This jigsaw contains 5 color groups, so each student must be first assigned to a color group. All color groups work with the same linear expression, but each color group focuses on a different representation. Each color group meets together to work through a set of questions about the representation that they received.
Then one person from each color group form a "rainbow" group. The rainbow group then works together to answer questions about the original linear function, making connections between the different ways the function was represented. Finally, the rainbow group picks a new equation and makes different representations.
Answer keys are included for all parts of this resource (the color groups, the rainbow group, the practice worksheet and the exit ticket).
Color and black/white versions are provided.
