This series of three activities with recording sheets, helps students to connect numerals, math drawings, five frames, dice and number punches.
For the first two sheets, the teacher calls out a number and students either draw or build to match. They then write the numeral. Once students become fluent with numerals, five frames and drawings, they can move on to the connections sheet where they will extend this to dice and number punches (using a hole puncher). Hole punching is a great way to support one-to-one correspondence! Using small bingo markers or stamp markers can replace the hole punching in the final column.
A fun way to develop a strong sense of numbers and meet the K.CC.4 standards!!
