This skit can be adapted to most ages and levels for Spanish.I am using it with a middle school Spanish 1 class.
Imagine you are travelling in a Spanish speaking country and you want to tell the people you meet about who you are and what you like to do and also find out about them. In this skit you are going to have a basic conversation in Spanish describing yourself to the “Spanish speaking person,” and listen to them describe themselves. For this project students will work with a partner (or a group of 3) to create the skit in Spanish. The groups will have a conversation talking about each of you. One partner will be the person on vacation and the other person will be the Spanish speaker.
There are 9 categories which the students need to talk about:
2. Find out their name
3. Ask how they are
4. Ask them what they like to do in their free time
5. Describe yourself/ your partner ( physical appearance)
6. Talk about your favorite sports
7. Decide if you want to keep in contact
8. Find out contact information
Included is the student handout, two on one page and a rubric.
The rubric includes the following:
-Requirements for the presentation according to the instructions
-Use of vocabulary in the presentation
-Creativity / Wow factor
-Productivity during the preparation - time used wisely or not during class.
