This quick and easy creative writing activity has actually been a family favorite of mine for many, many years. I've adapted my resource for classroom use, utilizing the same prompts and adding a few more along the way so that students can:
- review short story elements
- practice writing dialogue
- generate ideas about setting, rising action, and climactic moments, as well as falling action and resolution ("Consequences!")
This can be a fun creative writing activity, an emergency substitute mini-lesson, a model for brainstorming, and/or an initial outline for a short story assignment.
Kids love the silly stuff that they generate with their peers!
