Each of these five consonant blends RtI phonics lessons takes 20 minutes to complete. The first lesson is teacher-led and uses phonics cards (provided as digital masters for you to copy and cut. You and your students will love these 89 colorful animal sound-spelling and consonant blend cards!) The teacher begins the second, third, and fourth lessons with review and assigns activity-based worksheets. Students complete the three worksheets and self-correct to learn from their mistakes. The fifth lesson is a short formative assessment to determine whether the student has mastered the phonics pattern.
The teacher mini-conferences with individual students or groups to grade and review the short formative assessment and briefly re-teach if necessary. Simple and effective Response to Intervention reading instruction!
