This packet is designed to help young children learn the main consonant digraphs (ph, wh, sh, th, and ch). Just when kids think they have their letter sounds all figured out, you introduce them to consonant digraphs. :) In this packet, I describe consonant digraphs as letter buddies that work together so much that they create their own sound. The letter characters and stories help the children make a mental picture of the sounds they are learning.
Each consonant digraph comes with a picture card and a little explanation story as to why it makes its new sound. For example, c and h take care of their pet chickens together, and they make the sound "ch, ch, ch" to call the chickens over.
This consonant digraph packet includes consonant digraph letter pictures for ch, sh, th, wh, and ph, an explanation card, an activity to help practice each consonant digraph, and two review activities including a foldable booklet.
