Here is a unique way to practice the consonant-vowel-consonant word pattern. It's called, "Happy Kids Bingo"! Each child's face has been given a name. The names are three letter words which align with the C-V-C word pattern. The vowels are pronounced with the short vowel sound.
This game comes with 25 unique bingo sheets. There are 24 names used. There are 12 boys with happy faces. There are 12 girls with happy faces. Each happy face has been given a name. I named them all!
In addition to the 25 bingo sheets, there are 2 sets of calling cards. The first set has the names of the "kids". The second set of calling cards has the nonsense words which rhyme with the names of the happy-face children.
There are two ways to play this game. The first way is for the teacher to read the names (one at a time) from the calling cards. The students find and cover the words/faces as they are called out.
The other way to play requires additional phonetic skills on the parts of your students. Use the "Nonsense Rhyming Word Cards" (Included) in place of the name cards. The teacher reads the "Nonsense Rhyming Word Cards". The students find a name that rhymes with the nonsense word called out. They then cover that name on their bingo sheets.
