My class plays “Consonant and Vowel Islands” to distinguish between the letters. We put on some island style music, such as the Beach Boys (links provided), and I hand each student an alphabet card. We declare one corner of the room as “consonant island” and one corner “vowel island”. Each student gets a letter card and “swims” to their island until the music stops. They LOVE this! Great way to reinforce vowels and consonants in your classroom!
