Consonant and Vowel Letter Cards
There are Consonant Letter Cards for: b-c-d-f-g-h-j-k-l-m-n-p-q-r-s-t-v-w-x-y-z-
In the Word Family Readers Program, there are Vowel Letter Cards for the
Short Vowels (included here), the Long Vowels, the Vowel Teams, and R-Controlled.
Consonant and Vowel Letter Cards are used to spell words in the Lesson
Plan. All of the Consonant Letter Cards are in black.
The Short Vowel Cards are in red and black. The red Vowel Cards are used to
emphasize the vowel sound in Family Words, i.e., at, bat, cat, hat. They
are also used in Sight Words when the vowel says a sound that has
already been learned, i.e., and, as, has. The black Vowel Cards are included
to be used in Sight Words in which the vowel does not say a sound that has already been learned, i.e., the, a, I.
