This multisensory lesson based on the principles of Orton Gillingham provides a variety of opportunities for students for consonant "d."

There is a :script page and a page for phonemic awareness to help students develop their phonological awareness, and to develop a vocabulary that includes the terms vowel, consonant, short vowels etc. It is important students have a strong grasp of the terminology used in class.


This multisensory packet includes:
Page 1/2 - Title and informational page
Page 3 - Teacher script for multisensory lesson
Page 4 - Introductory multisensory lesson
Page 5- Phonemic Awareness Activity
Page 6, 7, 8 - Word Lists - page 5 all short vowels; page 7 short a, short e, short i words with "d"; page 8 short o and short u with "d."
Page 9 Sight words that students will use for reading phrases and sentences that are part of the multisensory packet
Page 10 - Phrase practice to develop reading fluency
Page 11 - Controlled reading - sentences
Page 12 - Writing activity
Pages 13- Box- IT Activity -optional activity
Page 14- Optional Activity- Word Search. Please only offer this to students as an optional activity. Why? This activity is one where a student either loves to do word searches, or dislike greatly. Those who do not like word searches may have difficulties with memory, processing, or visualization skills.
