Page 3 - Introductory multisensory lesson that focuses on the consonant "r."
Page 4 - Phonologoical Awareness Activity - this is a sound awareness activity to help your students develop an auditory/sound awareness of the different sounds. Students need to manipulate the sounds within words to become automatic.
Page 5 - Basic word list for students who are beginning to learn the different sounds of consonants.
Page 6 - This is a higher level word list that includes other higher reading skills. Many students have acquired words that they have visually memorized to the point of having the words in their sight word vocabulary.
Page 7 - Controlled Reading - Reading controlled reading helps to develop reading fluency. Without reading fluency, a person will struggle to become a strong reader. So, it is critical to practice "controlled reading" activities.
Page 8 - Writing activities that support the development of the consonant "r" and sentence development that is very critical for student academic achievement.
Page 9/10 - Phrase to Sentence development - these activities support reading and sentence development.
Page 11 - Box it Activity - This activity is a great follow up activity for students to continue to review, repeat and internalize the skill using a multisensory approach. Each student works at his/her own speed, and this supports memory and processing skill development.
Page 12 - Word search. PLEASE use caution with this activity as it is quite difficult for students who do not have strong memory, processing speed. Then, there are students who will complete this activity first because they have visual strengths that thrive on this type of activity. Please do not force or require this activity for grading purposes. Let the students determine, based on your knowledge of each students' strengths.
