Constellations has been used in my classroom with much success. My students have loved the stories and answering and discussing the questions after reading them. We discuss the stories as well as the answers to the questions as a whole class and some in reading groups. I read some of the stories to them and others they work on independently. I use these stories during our space unit.
These stories can also be used also as homework sheets, as centers, or stapled together in packet to work on when work is finished.
I have found that these stories are of high interest to my students and they ask for more.
The unit includes the following:
* Suggested Lesson Plans on how you might use this unit and stories.
* 7 stories about the constellations with open ended questions to lead to classroom discussions and understanding. Stories are designed for elementary age students. Constellation stories include Aquila, Aries, Laelaps, Cassiopeia, Gemini, Scorpio, and Ursa Major and Ursa Minor.
* Constellation Viewing project - a craft using toilet paper rolls and the printable included. The printable contains the constellations from this unit as well as from Constellations 1.
