Here is a fun game that will teach your students about the history of the United States Constitution. Students will first read the provided informational passage about the U.S. Constitution. Then they can play the traditional game of checkers, with a slight twist! They will be prompted by 24 Constitution questions as they hop around the checker board. The answers to all of the questions can be found in the informational passage, so this is an easy, one-day lesson that is great for U.S. Constitution Day!
This resource includes (4 part) printable checker boards that can be pasted (or taped) together, OR you can pick up some checker boards at the dollar store and number the squares as shown in the photo directions. See the preview for a sample of the passage and questions.
