Are you looking for an engaging reading activity to do on Constitution Day (September 17th)? This is one of those days that tend to sneak up on a teacher, and I am almost always scrambling to find an activity that I can quickly add to my already-packed day. That's why I decided to write my own Readers' Theater script! My students LOVE Readers' Theaters!
The script includes 26 parts. Therefore, it can be used as a whole class activity, or it can be used as a small-group activity (students are just awarded more parts!)
This product also includes a bonus activity! Before reading the script, students complete a worksheet similar to an anticipation guide. Students read statements and guess whether the Constitution-related sentences are true or false. AFTER reading the script, have your students return to the worksheet and answer the same questions again. It is always fun for students to see how much they learned! Plus, it holds them accountable to pay attention AND it gives us teachers a glimpse into their comprehension during the reading activity!
Check the preview to check out the readability and to determine if it is appropriate for your students.
This is also part of a BUNDLE. If you like to do Readers' Theaters throughout the school year, you might want to check this out! Readers’ Theater BUNDLE (scripts to use throughout the year)
