This is a revised Social Studies Unit about the Constitution for Grades 2-3. Students will learn about the Constitution, its importance, the three branches of our government, and Thomas Jefferson and the Declaration of Independence through an original Shared Reading Book, Reading Texts, Comprehension Questions and Writing Activities. Texts and Writing Activities are differentiated at the 2nd and 3rd grade levels. There are both informative and opinion piece writing prompts, graphic organizers, and writing anchor charts. Lesson plans are included and ELA Common Core Standards for Grades 2-3 are at the beginning of the unit.
