Constitution Day is every September 17th and public schools are mandated to recognize it. So although I teach World History and Geography and World Cultures, I still spend the period discussing our Constitution on that day.
Rather than going over tedious facts about the Constitution that the students will not remember after stepping out the classroom door, I created this powerpoint to allow students to discuss what our government does for us and compare the federal government to the state and local ones. This can also lead to an interesting discussion about how the government gets it funding and how it uses it.
The major facts about the Constitution are in here but there is more to it. There is also a little quiz at the end to assess the major points.
Please let me know if you have any questions. And feel free to adjust this for your own purposes.
