Vocabulary plays an important role in teaching history. Obviously, if our students understand the words they are interacting with throughout a lesson, information is much more easily digested.
This is a vocabulary lesson designed with the tactile learner in mind, but is an activity that will suit all of your students. Students cut and glue words and definitions into an interactive notebook (or simply a sheet of notebook paper). The “peek-a-boo” arrangement of the words and definitions are a great alternative to flashcards!
In addition to the cutouts, there is a PowerPoint for students to view to make certain they are matching the correct words with their definitions. There is a quiz included. The quiz is on a half sheet of paper to limit your paper usage.
Rather than overwhelm your students with long lists of vocabulary, this product focuses on 12 essential words.
The vocabulary words for this Constitution product are: Constitution, Amendment, Preamble, Article, Cabinet, Appoint, Veto, Override, Interpret, Bill, Consent, Ratify.
