Constitution Day and Citizenship Day is a combined event that occurs in the United States each year on September 17th. It commemorates the forming and signing of the Constitution of the United States on September 17, 1787. The citizens of Louisville, Ohio petitioned the United States Senate to officially recognize the date nationally in 1957. Citizenship Day was originally established by newspaper magnate William Randolph Hearst as a day to celebrate "Becoming a citizen of the United States." It was held on the third Sunday in May beginning in 1940. In 2004, Congress requested the President combine both days into one celebration to be held each year on September 17th.

Included in this set are images of the Founding Fathers - Franklin, Adams, Hamilton, Jefferson, Jay, Madison, and Washington; a Founding Fathers sign; an American flag from 1787; image of a the Constitution with "We the People" on it; quill pen; map of Ohio; banners for Constitution Day and Citizenship Day; the Statue of Liberty; and patriotic symbols - banners/bunting and fireworks.

The set will download as a zip file which is easy peasy to open! You'll then see your individual images and will be good to go!
