Every American history course covers the Constitutional Convention. Although it is extremely important, many students get lost and bored in learning about all of the abstract debates and plans.
So I created a fun and engaging research based game in which students learn about the Constitutional Convention by assuming the identities of the framers- walking in their shoes, researching their views and beliefs, writing speeches and giving them in front of the Convention. They also get to debate with the other delegates, and what middle or high schooler doesn't love to debate? Your students will learn so much through this project.
Included are the instructions, schedules, links to resources, research assignments, outlines on writing a good speech, and teacher checklist. My students loved it and I hope you like it!
