Make the Constitution relevant to today's students using this activity! This activity is an engaging, student-centered way to have students explore the writing of the Constitution and how those laws still affect us today.
Students will address a particular issue that the Constitution addressed in 1789 and continues to the present. They will be assigned a particular issue at the time of the drafting of the Constitution (like protecting individuals' right to free speech) and relate that to issues in the present.
Students will research their topic using sources linked in the activity and create a presentation to give to their classmates about their Constitutional issue.
Activity includes student directions, linked sources, and a rubric.
