What better way for students to demonstrate their understanding of how an ocean food web works than by constructing one themselves. Including in this packet are pages of black/white (for students to color) images of ocean producers, consumers, scavengers, and decomposers. Working together, students will organize the pictures to create a reasonable ocean food web. Not all pictures will be used (unless you want an ultra-challenge!) After organizing pictures on large poster paper, students can then fill-in the web with arrows to represent energy flow, ocean scenery, and color! If you so choose, students can share their projects with the class. This project fully aligns with Virginia SOL 5.8.
