This Reader's Theater takes students into Constructed Response Court where a Student Writer is on trial for failing to cite evidence in his answer to a question based on a close reading. Witnesses are called to the stand to testify about the need for citing evidence, and through their testimony, your students will hear about the importance of citing evidence from the text. After all the evidence is presented, what will be the judge's verdict in this case? Your students will learn as they read (and laugh) aloud in this Reader's Theater!
This resource includes:
-Teaching points for before, during, and after reading.
-A Reader's Theater script for 7 readers
