There is a page for EVERY 4th-grade Common Core Number & Operations in Base-ten standard. The goal of these pages is to prepare the students for the Constructed Responses on the Math portion (performance task) of the test. Students will train in a proven technique for solving word problems and constructing a complete response to earn full credit. These pages are set-up to be used in multiple ways. You can use it as a problem of the day where you do the example on Monday and the students do 1 problem a day the remainder of the week. You can have the students work in groups on the example problem, and then independently on the remaining problems. You could do the example problem and assign the remaining problems as homework (1 a day for the week). You could set these up as centers and students rotate through the different standards.

Find whole-number quotients and remainders with up to four-digit dividends and one-digit divisors, using strategies based on place value, the properties of operations, and/or the relationship between multiplication and division. Illustrate and explain the calculation by using equations, rectangular arrays, and/or area models.
Multiply a whole number of up to four digits by a one-digit whole number, and multiply two two-digit numbers, using strategies based on place value and the properties of operations. Illustrate and explain the calculation by using equations, rectangular arrays, and/or area models.
Fluently add and subtract multi-digit whole numbers using the standard algorithm.
Use place value understanding to round multi-digit whole numbers to any place.
Read and write multi-digit whole numbers using base-ten numerals, number names, and expanded form. Compare two multi-digit numbers based on meanings of the digits in each place, using >, =, and < symbols to record the results of comparisons.
