This packet includes an interactive lesson for constructing compound sentences by using sentence strips with key words and punctuation. Included in this pack is a lesson that can be simplified to a mini-lesson or extended to multiple class periods.

Manipulatives are a fantastic tool for students to be able to move and interact with concepts in a hands-on way. The following are a suggested list and order of activities that allow students to sort, compare & contrast, make connections, and engage with the tools necessary to construct compound sentences.
