PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Created by Schoenberg in the 1920s as a means of organising pitch classes and controlling chromaticism, these step by step instructions show students how to create a 12 tone row and a matrix. This process explains how to create the Prime row, Retrograde, Inversion and Retrograde inversion rows. C = 0 (based on a fixed, not moveable, 'doh'). I have successfully used this lesson a number of times when teaching senior students about Serialism.
