Construction-Themed Mentor Sentences

Make grammar fun with these construction-themed grammar mentor sentences. You can use these activities with any sentence. Students will "dump" sentences, "deconstruct" them, and then "raise" them to be better sentences.

Students will take sentences apart, just as the graphics imply. Different pages require students to find the subject and verb or parts of speech. Other pages help students break sentences apart to identify them as simple or compound. The final pages ask students to better their own writing, by adding adjectives or adverbs or by changing words.
