Aquaponics is a sustainable system that combines two forms of agriculture. The first is Aquaculture (raising aquatic creatures such as fish, snails or crustaceans). The second is hydroponics (growing/cultivating plants in water). My PowerPoint contains detailed instructions and pictures on how to create a low cost and proven system that can be easily setup both in and outdoors. Your students grades 6-12 will love this hands-on learning opportunity and will be amazed how fast their plants will grow in a relatively short amount of time. Aquaponics is designed to be a self-sustaining and low maintenance system, so once it is up and running, all you do is feed the fish and enjoy the "Fruits of your labor!"
