PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

This lesson introduces the surrealist imagery of Maggie Taylor, Jerry Uelsmann, and Robert and Shana Parkeharrison. Students use a family story as inspiration for a surreal photomontage using Photoshop, adding paintbrush and texture layers for a painterly look.

This lesson is appropriate for high school students who have some experience with Photoshop but is probably too challenging as an intro to Photoshop. I have always found this to be a very successful lesson. Not only are the images compelling, but the students' family stories can be very moving and eye-opening.

This packet contains introductory activity as well as student instructions. I have left it as a Word document so you can copy and paste the student instructions into a handout.
