This fun resource allows students to practice using context clues to figure out the meaning of unknown words while playing an engaging file folder game.
It can be easily assembled (directions are included). Students take turns reading sentences with multiple choice answers for the meaning of the underlined word. If correct, they move forward on the game board. The first person to get to the end of the game board wins! All game play instructions are part of the file folder set up.
Inside with the game board, students are given context clues hints such as finding synonyms, antonyms, examples, inferences, and definitions given. Examples of all of these are also included in the game.
Some of the words used in the game to be figured out are slang and some are "real" words. An answer key is provided.
