Using context clues to solve unknown words are always tricky for kids. These are pages that I use with my kids (two or three times a week) to help with context clues. I use a gradual release of responsibility by giving them the word and the context clue to solve the unknown word. Then students are only given the word and at the end only the sentence where they have to come up with the word, context clue and what that word means.
