Take a journey through the US National Park system as you learn about the 5 types of context clues: Definition, Example, Synonym, Antonym, and Inference.
Each of the different context clues includes 2 worksheets:
1) a "lesson" to model and teach each context clue type and associated signal words
2) multiple choice worksheet for student to practice on their own
The text and examples are based on the national parks- one for each context clue type:
Definition: Acadia National Park
Example: Great Smoky Mountains National Park
Synonym: Grand Canyon National Park
Antonym: Yosemite National Park
Inference: Yellowstone National Park
There is a 6th worksheet for mixed practice with text based on Glacier National Park.
Vocabulary level is at approximately 5th-6th grade level. Due to the National Parks content, this can be a good companion lesson for students learning about US geography, ecosystems, or geology.
Additional materials are provided to create a file folder to hold all the worksheets and keep track of completed learning.
